Cross-Connection Tester Certification Information

What is the process?

Pass an Approved Certification Course

Contact AWWAABPA or ASSE to apply for and complete the course and examination. County of San Luis Obispo also accepts certification from the County of Los Angeles, County of Ventura and the County of Orange.

Submit application to County of San Luis Obispo

Submit a completed Tester Application Form to the County of San Luis Obispo Environmental Health Services office. The application must be accompanied by proof of successful completion of any of  the backflow prevention assembly tester certification courses listed in Step 1.

Provide Proof of Current Test Kit Calibration

Test kits must be calibrated annually.

This service is available to individuals wishing to become certified to test Backflow Prevention Assemblies.

Is there a charge for this service?

This service is provided free of charge.

When and where is this service offered?

This service is available throughout the year during regular business hours except during scheduled holidays.
