County Vehicle and Driver Complaints

What is the process?

Reporting County Vehicles

The County is committed to ensuring the safety, health and welfare of all employees and the public we serve. Every employee who drives County vehicles is encouraged to attend defensive driving courses offered through the Learning and Development Center. All employees are required to review the County's Rules for the Use of Vehicles on County Business document on an annual basis.

If you observe unsafe, erratic or hazardous behavior of a driver in a County Vehicle, you are encouraged to report it as soon as it is safe and possible. Please call our Administrative Services Team at (805) 781-5959 or use the Contact form to notify us. If possible, please include:

  • the date and time of the incident
  • the behavior observed
  • the vehicle number or license plate
  • your name and telephone number in case we need to contact you for more information

All County vehicles have a four or six digit vehicle number displayed at the rear of the vehicle.
