Building Plan Review

Who can use this service?

Anyone who has applied for a County construction permit or grading permit can use this service.

Is there a charge for this service?

Please refer to the Department of Planning & Building Fee Schedule for application fees.

What is the process?

Step 1: Submit Application

The applicant submits a completed application package and and pays initial application fees for a construction permit or grading permit.

Step 2: Review by Staff

A plans examiner reviews the plans. If the plans are missing any important information, the plans examiner will note what is missing and inform the applicant that corrections are required.

Step 3: Make Corrections

If necessary, the applicant makes any required corrections and returns two (2) sets of the corrected plans along with any supporting documentation to the Department of Planning & Building. The plans examiner then conducts another review of the corrected plans.

Step 4: Pay Fees

Once the plans examiner verifies that the plans comply with all applicable code and ordinance requirements, the applicant pays any remaining fees on the construction permit or grading permit.

Step 5: Issue Permit

Once all information has been verified and all fees have been paid, the construction permit or grading permit is issued to the applicant.

This service is available throughout the year during regular business hours except during scheduled holidays.
