Please print the “ Record Sealing Application ” which is included in the attachment below (PDF format). Before submitting your Record Sealing application, make sure you have no pending Court matters that would cause the application to be disapproved. Please fill out the application completely. The application must include your name, date of birth, social security number and driver’s license number. Make sure you sign the bottom of the application. Please include all traffic and law violations in the space provided. Specifically include the names of police agencies that arrested or cited you. Be as complete and accurate as possible. ONLY AGENCY AND OFFENSES LISTED ON YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE SEALED . Once your record is officially sealed, the arresting or citing agencies as listed in the application will be directed to seal their records. "Once the Court has ordered the person's records sealed, the proceedings in the case shall be deemed never to have occurred, and the person may properly reply accordingly to any inquiry about the events, the records of which are ordered sealed." WIC 781. There is a Record Sealing fee of $101.00 that must be paid when the application is submitted.

IN PERSON:
You may turn in your completed application at the Probation Department, located at the above address. You will be required to pay the fee at the time your application is submitted. You may still pick up the application at the Juvenile Probation Department, Address 1065 Kansas Ave. San Luis Obispo, CA.
RESULTS OF REQUESTS:
After submitting your application the Probation Department will prepare a Petition to Seal your records. The Court will notice of you the hearing date on the petition. Your appearance at the hearing is not mandatory.
Generally, the process takes two to three months because of the investigation process that must be done on your request for Record Sealing. You will receive a copy of the Sealing Order signed by the Judge if your Petition is granted or a copy of the Order for Denial if the Judge denies your Petition. If your Petition is denied, you will not receive a refund of your application fee.
