How can I recycle from home?

If you live within city limits, you probably have access to curbside recycling.  Curbside recycling requires a specific plastic bin to set out every week.  Contact the recycling company in your area to receive a bin and begin service.  See the list provided above.

If you find that curbside recycling is not available where you live, please take your recyclable items to a local drop off/buy-back recycling center. A list is proved below. You might even receive money back for some materials.  A list of buy-back centers is also available in the Integrated Waste Management Authority’s Recycling Guide.

What can I recycle?

Your recycler can provide a list of items you can recycle in your area. Most residential curbside programs accept aluminum cans, glass bottles and jars, steel “tin” cans, newspapers (including the slick ads), plastic tubs and bottles, chipboard like paper towel tubes or cereal boxes (remove the plastic lining first), cardboard (flattened and stacked), junk mail and magazines!  You can even recycle yard and lawn clippings in some areas, if you have a special bin for “GREENWASTE”.   Do not put greenwaste in your regular recycling bin with cans and bottles!  Please note that styrofoam® or any containers marked number 6 or 7 are not recycled in any local program.

How does one get a recycle bin?

Call your local recycling service provider to obtain a bin.
