LAKE NACIMIENTO MUSSEL PREVENTION PROGRAM 2011

Mandatory vessel inspection required prior to launching. Please practice responsible boating by ensuring that your watercraft is CLEAN, DRAINED, DRY, and MUSSEL-FREE before launching.
*Please note these requirements remain in effect until further notice. Stay tuned for details on the 2012 Boating Season.
All vessels must carry a Vessel Screening Permit while boating at Lakes Nacimiento or San Antonio. Permit expires 14 days after Level I screening/inspection. Be sure permit is valid and current before boating.
NOTICE: It is unlawful (CA Fish & Game Code Sections 2300- 2302 and SLO County Code Chapeter 11.20.120) and to possess, import, ship, or transport in the state, or place, plant, or cause to be placed or planted in any water within the state, zebra or quagga mussels.

Schedule of Mussel Inspection and Education Trainings
Purpose: Inspector training is education for certified screeners/inspectors whose role is to screen vessel prior to launch at Lakes Nacimiento or San Antonio. Monterey and San Luis Obispo County Level II Inspector Trainers conduct the training and each session takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Official STAMP: Boaters must carry a SIGNED and STAMPED Vessel Screening Permit with them and renew it every 14 days. Certified Screeners will use an official stamp to signify boater clearance to launch upon passing Level I scsreening/inspection.
**Each community will determine the best means of managing its certified screeners, boating traffic, and Vessel Screening Form renewal. Please contact your community's Mussel Prevention Coordinator to find out more about your community's program, and how you can help keep Lake Nacimiento mussel-free!
