Stormwater Pollution Prevention

YOU are the solution to stormwater pollution!

Stormwater pollution is caused by stormwater runoff from streets, parking lots, sidewalks, rooftops, construction sites, and other surfaces.  Pollutants such as sediment, oils, chemicals, trash, and other materials are carried by the rain into the storm sewer system and directly into our lakes, streams, and the ocean.  Stormwater is untreated, that is, it does not go to a wastewater treatment plant.

The U.S. EPA NPDES Phase II Final Rules require that the county implement a Stormwater Management Program (SWMP)  Click here to read our SWMP.
