Review the Proposed County Budget

Provide more input on the County of San Luis Obispo’s fiscal year 2016-17 proposed budget in June. The County will host public budget hearings June 13 through 15 at the Board of Supervisors Chambers in the County Government Center, 1055 Monterey Street in San Luis Obispo. The hearings are an opportunity for the public to comment on the proposed budget and the Board of Supervisors to make revisions.

Grant Available For Local Beautification Projects

Local nonprofit groups and public agencies are invited to apply for grants to fund projects that will enhance the cultural, environmental, recreational, or historical resources in San Luis Obispo County’s unincorporated areas. As part of the County’s Infrastructure and Beautification Grant program, the County will award a total of $100,000 to qualified applicants. The deadline to apply is June 17, 2016.

 Cayucos Vets Hall

Cayucos Veterans Hall Closed Indefinitely Due to Unsafe Conditions

Unfortunately, we had no choice but to close the Cayucos Veterans Hall on May 4 after a structural analysis found that the building is unsafe to occupy. We're working with the Cayucos Citizens Advisory Council to review the potential for rehabilitation. We've also been working with the Cayucos Lions Club regarding existing reservations for the space.

Community Celebrates Completion of Los Osos Water Recycling Facility           

The community gathered together on Friday, April 22 to celebrate the completion of the Los Osos Water Recycling Facility. After 10 years of planning and construction, the project was completed in March 2016.

Desalination Project Moves Forward 

The County of San Luis Obispo is moving forward with a plan for the Diablo Canyon Desalination Project. On March 22, 2016, The Board of Supervisors approved a request for $900,000 from San Luis Obispo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Reserves to fund the planning phase for the Diablo Canyon Desalination Project.
