The Housing and Economic Development section is dedicated to creating new housing opportunities for residents with low and moderate incomes by providing the following services:
- Housing Grants: Managing Federal and State grants including Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), CalHome grant, and Supportive Housing Program (SHP) grants to fund community development and services projects.
- Affordable Housing: Offering affordable housing opportunities for renters and homeowners throughout the County
- First Time Homebuyer Program: Providing mortgage, downpayment, and closing cost assistance for qualified low income families to purchase their first home.
- Housing Element: Updating and implementing the Housing Element of the County’s General Plan.
