Reproductive Healthcare in SLO County
Reproductive health services are no longer available at the Paso Robles Public Health Clinic. Our community partners listed below provide these services and welcome patients with CenCal (Medi-Cal) as well as those without insurance.
Community Health Centers of the Central Coast (CHC)
CHC provides complete OB/GYN services including ‘well women’ exams, family planning, GYN surgeries, obstetrics, as well as care during and after pregnancy at four clinics across the county.
CHC also provides primary care and pediatric services.
Planned Parenthood
The Planned Parenthood clinic in San Luis Obispo offers provides contraception, STD testing and treatment, wellness and preventive care, prenatal and postpartum services, and more. They offer both in-person and telehealth services.
The Center for Health and Prevention (CAPSLO)
Located in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande, The Center for Health and Prevention provides free to low-cost family planning services and reproductive health services to adults and teens. They accept CenCal and many clients will qualify for free services through a state-funded program based on a sliding fee scale.
Mobile Clinics Near You
Both CAPSLO’s The Center for Health and Prevention and the SLO Noor Foundation continue to bring reproductive healthcare to locations across the County. These mobile clinics mostly care for underserved, unhoused, or low-income community members who are not otherwise getting health care in a typical clinic.

Help with Costs through State and Federal Programs
Family PACT (Planning Access Care Treatment)
In California, low-income women, men and teens seeking birth control may qualify for the state's Family PACT funding program, which includes some no-cost services. Applications are available at participating health centers, including Planned Parenthood. Eligible women may receive birth control, routine periodic exams and pap smears as well as testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) or vaginal infections. Men can receive condoms and STD testing/ treatment as well as vasectomy services.
Medi-Cal (CenCal)
Medi-Cal covers many services, including birth control, STD testing, pregnancy testing, prenatal care and abortion services. Staff will verify what services are covered by your Medi-Cal insurance. Learn more and apply for Medi-Cal.
Medi-Cal during and after pregnancy — The Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP) helps pregnant individuals who can’t afford health coverage have coverage during and one year after pregnancy. MCAP covers medical, vision, and dental services, prenatal care, hospitalizations, mental health, prescriptions, and more. Learn more and apply for MCAP.
Medicare
Certain providers accept Medicare, the federal health insurance program for people age 65 or older or those with certain disabilities. Call ahead to inquire about Medicare coverage when you schedule an appointment. Learn more and apply for Medicare.
Every Woman Counts
Every Woman Counts provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams and pap smears for age-eligible women who do not have health insurance and meet the program's income guidelines. Every Woman Counts services are available at CHC Women's Health clinics and Planned Parenthood.
