San Luis Obispo County, California

The Juvenile Court School of San Luis Obispo is a WASC accredited program administered by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. It is located inside the San Luis Obispo Juvenile Hall. It is staffed with two full-time teachers, a resource teacher, and three full-time Instructional Assistants.

With brand new, state approved text books and a compliment of 6-8 computers in each classroom, we are able to provide up-to-date curriculum and technology for our varied student population. Each student is given individualized assignments according to their grade level, academic ability and requirements towards successfully completing a high school education. For students whose needs are other than credit based, we offer study for the GED or the CHSPE as an alternative. We offer the High School Exit Exam three times a year for those students who are required to take it.

The staff at the San Luis Obispo Juvenile Court School are committed to working with members of the community along with various organizations in bringing outside resources to enhance our student’s education experience. Those would include EOC, SARP Center, CHP, Cal-Fire, Cal-Trans,, Grizzly Academy and Cuesta College counselors, all of whom offer insight into the opportunities available to our students. The Juvenile Court School staff is proud to work hand-in-hand with San Luis Obispo County Probation in a team approach to best fill the needs of those minors we serve.
