County Clerk-Recorder Mission Statement

In pursuit of a well-governed community, the County Clerk-Recorder will ensure the integrity of the election process and the records maintained by the office and provide access to these public records by complying with all applicable laws, employing technology to its fullest and wisely spending the public funds entrusted to us while serving our customers with courteous and well-trained staff.

Important Information

• Effective January 1, 2012, there will be a fee increase for Birth and Death Certificates.  The fee for Birth Certificates will be $21.00 for each copy.  The fee for Death Certificates will be $14.00 for each copy.

• February 7, 2012 - Effect of Ruling on Proposition 8
  The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling that Proposition 8 was unconstitutional.  Please visit County of San Luis Obispo Same Sex Marriage Information web page for further information.
