The following are the sample of the ballots in San Luis Obispo County. To determine which ballot type you are eligible to vote, go to Find Your Polling Place . Once you get to the page with your polling place on it, the ballot type is listed in the middle column. Make a note of your ballot type.
Democratic Party Ballot - only those registered to vote with the Democratic Party will receive one of these ballots.
Republican Party Ballot - only those registered to vote with the Republican Party will receive one of these ballots.
Non-Partisan Ballot - Since the following parties did not have any candidates file for partisan office voters registered with the American Independent, Green, Libertarian and Peace & Freedom parties will be issued this ballot. Also, anyone who is registered as a Decline to State voter or registered with a party that is not qualified in California will receive this ballot unless they choose to vote a party ballot- see below under ballots for unaffiliated voters.
Ballots for Unaffiliated Voters - A voter who is registered as a Decline to State voter or who is registered with a party that is not qualified in California has the opportunity to choose one of the party ballots- either Democratic or Republican. Both of these parties are allowing unaffiliated voters to vote in their election for this primary election.
