Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

It's your money - Claim it & Save

The Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a special tax break for people who work full or part time. This means extra cash in your pocket.

Just file your 2011 federal tax return Form 1040 or 1040A and Schedule EIC.

What's more, provided you did work and got paid for working in 2011, you can still get an EITC refund even if you don’t owe any income tax.  Also, if you did not file for EITC in the past 3 years you can file claims for those past years now.

The EITC refund is not counted as income in how your monthly CalWORKs cash grant, your CalFresh allotment, or your Medi-Cal benefits are figured.

The Child Tax Credit (CTC)

The Child Tax credit is for families that earned more than $3,000 in 2011. Your family may get up to $1,000 for each qualifying child under age 17.
