Drug and Alcohol Services offers parenting groups as a part of our treatment services which can be accessed through our walk-in clinics. Classes are offered in our San Luis Obispo Center and North County center.

Groups are held once a week for two hours with an emphasis on increasing the bond between parents and their children. Parents meet with a therapist for one hour while the children are cared for in our child-care room. During the second hour the parent and child participate in activities which are focused on increasing attachment. Parenting in recovery has unique challenges which are specifically addressed and parents have the security of knowing this group is a place where others understand their concerns.
