PURPOSE

The purpose of the tiered permitting program is to protect public health and the environment from improper treatment, disposal and potential releases of hazardous wastes.  This is accomplished through routine inspections, complaint investigation, and monitoring of generators that treat hazardous waste in the Conditional Exempt, Grant of Conditional Authority, and Permit-By-Rule (PBR) tiers tiered permit system.
