The purpose of this program is to ensure safe and healthful shelter for correctional facility occupants, residents and visitors of San Luis Obispo County by ensuring compliance with the requirements for sanitation, ventilation, maintenance, use and occupancy for organized camps and detention facilities under provisions of the California Health and Safety Code. This program also responds to situations where children younger than six years have blood lead levels that are at least at a level high enough to adversely affect their intelligence, behavior, and development.
