First Time Homebuyer Program

House The Housing and Economic Development section offers a First Time Homebuyer Program to assist qualified low income families with downpayment, mortgage, and closing costs to purchase their first home within the County of San Luis Obispo. In collaboration with the City of San Luis Obispo Housing Authority, the program's goal is to promote first time homeownership among low income families. You must contact the First Time Homebuyer Program participating lenders to determine if you are qualified. Seeking More Funds - We are looking into brining in more state and federal funds into this program to continue offering second loans to those low income families who are qualified to purchase a house within the County.

First Time Home Buyer Training - All the applicants who qualify for the First Time Home Buyer loans must complete homebuyer training education and obtain certification before closing the escrow. Other First Time Home Buyer Program - The County collaborates with the City of San Luis Obispo to assist those low income families that are interested in purchasing the City's affordable units. Check out the City's housing program.
