A Green Building Ordinance (GBO) is being developed by the Planning and Building department to identify ways the community and county can address global climate changes. The GBO will highlight the ways to reduce energy consumption, improve indoor air quality, resource conservation, and Greenhouse Gas emissions.
The goal is to design a variety of programs and recommendations with extensive public involvement before drafting the Ordinance. The County is actively seeking public input in order to write an ordinance that fosters a livable, vibrant, and sustainable community.
On Wednesday, April 25, 2012, the San Luis Obispo County Department of Planning and Building released a public review draft of the proposed County’s Green Building Ordinance. We invite you to review the draft ordinance and submit your comments to us.
