A permit is needed prior to constructing your greywater system. Applying for a greywater disposal permit is very simple: 1. Read the Washing Machine Greywater Sump document or the information posted at the California Department of Water Resources website. 2. Design a greywater plot plan. An 8 ½ X 11” paper drawing is fine, as long as they are neat and accurate. Or use the Property & Project Layout page on our "Over the Counter Permit Application" form. 3. Apply for an "Over the Counter Permit" and pay any applicable fees. 4. Construct system 5. Call our automated inspection line at 805-788-2076 to schedule an inspection of the system or use our online inspection scheduling system . Use code “458” when asked for the type of inspection.
