Volunteers Needed for Homeless Services Center

In response to this week’s storms, 40 Prado Homeless Services Center has increased their bed capacity and volunteers are needed to assist with general tasks including check in, serving meals, setting up cots, and other tasks.

“With the heavy rains, the emergency shelters who have been providing care for our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness have been working around the clock,” said Jeffrey Al-Mashat, a Program Manager with the County of San Luis Obispo Homeless Services Unit, “We would be grateful to anyone who is able to give some time to support this important work. Evening and overnight hours are where the need is the greatest.”

SE NECESITAN VOLUNTARIOS PARA EL CENTRO DE SERVICIOS PARA PERSONAS SIN HOGAR
San Luis Obispo, CA – Para ayudar con el aumento de la capacidad debido a la tormenta, se necesitan voluntarios en el Centro de Servicios para Personas sin Hogar de 40 Prado para ayudar con las tareas generales, incluyendo el registro, el servicio de comidas, la instalación de catres, y otras tareas.
“Con las fuertes lluvias, los refugios de emergencia que han estado brindando atención a nuestros vecinos que se encuentran sin hogar han estado trabajando las 24 horas”, dijo Jeffrey Al-Mashat de la Unidad de Servicios para Personas sin Hogar del Condado de San Luis Obispo, “Estaríamos agradecidos a cualquiera que pueda dar algo de tiempo para apoyar este importante trabajo. Las horas de la tarde y la noche son donde la necesidad es mayor”.
