View or Pay Property Taxes by eCheck, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, or American Express

Second Installments of Annual Secured Property Tax Bills are due as of February 1st and will become delinquent if not paid on or before April 12th. 

After the Delinquency Date of April 12th, California Law requires that a 10% penalty and a delinquent cost be imposed on unpaid 2nd installments.

COVID-19 Related Penalty Waiver Information 

If you were unable to pay your Property Tax Bill due to impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic, please see our news article for information on our COVID-19 Penalty Waiver claim process.  Please complete the appropriate Waiver Request form and turn it in with your tax payment when you are able to pay no later than May 6, 2021.

Temporary Public Service Counter Policies

The Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector is implementing temporary policies to minimize the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus.


As of Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector (ACTTC) will be closing access to our Public Service Counter and will be implementing the following procedures in order to minimize the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus. We are confident that we can accommodate our core business functions and serve the public without significant disruption. We intend to return to standard Public Service counter procedures as soon as it is safe to do so.

Property Tax Payments

  • We encourage you to make your property tax payments before the April 10, 2020 deadline at our website (https://services.slocountytax.org). Payments by electronic check are available with no processing fee (Routing number and account number required). Payments by credit and debit cards require a 2.39% processing fee, or;
  • Drop your check payment in the outdoor-facing drop box at the Monterey Street entrance of the County Government Center, or;
  • Send your property tax payment to us via postal mail. Please ensure that your payment is postmarked on or before the April 10, 2020 deadline, or;
  • Make a payment over the telephone at (805) 781-5831 (Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM). Electronic check (no fee) and credit and debit card payments (2.39% processing fee) are available, or;
  • If you have no other option but to pay in cash, please email us at [email protected] or call us at (805) 781-5831 (Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM) to make arrangements.

County Business Licenses

  • For existing license holders, you may complete your annual renewal at our business license website (https://services.slocountytax.org/BL), or;
  • Send your renewal payment via postal mail, or;
  • Drop your check payment in the outdoor-facing drop box at the Monterey Street entrance of the New Government Center, or;
  • For new business license applications, please complete the application form located on the County website.

    • Drop your completed business license application form in the Monterey Street drop box..

Transient Occupancy Taxes (TOT)

  • Report and pay your TOT at our TOT website (https://services.slocountytax.org/TOT). or;
  • Send your TOT return and check payment via postal mail, or;
  • Drop your check payment in the outdoor-facing drop box at the Monterey Street entrance of the County Government Center, or;
  • Make your payment via telephone at (805) 781-5831 (eCheck).

Cannabis Business Taxes (CBT)
