After 12 years of representing the office of District 2 Supervisor Bruce Gibson and serving the County for 28 years, Legislative Assistant Cherie McKee plans for retirement in January 2019.
District Two Legislative Assistant Cherie McKee has announced her retirement, effective January 4, 2019.
McKee has represented the office of Supervisor Bruce Gibson for 12 years and has served the county for 28 years in total. McKee commented that, “It has been an honor to serve District Two and I have had the pleasure of working with so many wonderful people. I would like to thank Supervisor Gibson for this incredible opportunity and the hardworking county staff that was always there with answers to my questions.”
Prior to her service as the Legislative Assistant for District 2 she worked as the Secretary to the Board of Supervisors; Deputy Clerk to the Board of Supervisors; and Deputy Clerk to Superior Court.
Second District Supervisor Bruce Gibson said, “Cherie has done an exceptional job serving the residents of District 2. She is tireless in helping people navigate the County system and cares deeply that people get the services and answers that they need. Even as she will be greatly missed, I’m happy that she will be taking on new adventures.”
Gibson also announced that he has appointed Blake Fixler of Paso Robles to replace McKee. Fixler has an extensive background in Public Service, having served as the Board of Supervisor’s secretary and presently the Supervising Administrative Clerk II in County Central Services.
McKee commented, "I am so pleased Blake Fixler agreed to take this position. Because of his extensive experience with the County he will hit the ground running. He is thoughtful and customer service oriented which is very important to me in handing over the responsibilities.
Gibson said, “Blake will bring great energy to the office and I greatly appreciate his interest in serving the North Coast.”
Fixler said, “I’m excited about my new responsibilities and look forward to meeting new people and taking on new challenges. It truly is a privilege to follow in Cherie’s footsteps. The Second District is comprised of not only beautiful landscapes, but great people. I look forward to working with our constituents and County staff to find answers and resolve issues. Supervisor Gibson is dedicated to working hard for this community, and I am just as committed to serving the public.”
Gibson indicated that Fixler will assume the duties of the Legislative Assistant on January 7, 2019 to assure a seamless transition.
