Governor Newsom Reverses Parole Board's Decision to Parole Convicted Murderer Jason Adam Greenwell

After DA Dow urged in writing, Governor Newsom reversed the Board of Parole Hearings' earlier decision to release Jason Adam Greenwell who was convicted and sentenced to prison for the 2010 brutal murder of 15-year-old Dystiny Myers.
Convicted Murderer Denied Parole for 10 Years

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a panel of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Board of Parole Hearings denied parole to convicted murderer Michael Anthony Morgan (DOB 04-21-1960). Based on the Board’s denial, Morgan will not be eligible for a new parole hearing until Spring of 2032.

Kammeron Isaac Anderson sentenced to 32 years to life in state prison for residential burglary, multiple sexual assault crimes and theft

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Kammeron Isaac Anderson (26) has been sentenced to 32 years to life in state prison for various sex crimes including residential burglary with the intent to commit rape and two counts of assault with the intent to commit rape. Anderson was also convicted of petty theft.
Jury finds Kellen John Clarke of Atascadero guilty of making criminal threats against a bartender at Sweet Springs Saloon in Los Osos

After a week-long trial, a San Luis Obispo County jury convicted Kellen John Clarke (59) of verbally threatening to light on fire an employee of the Sweet Springs Saloon. This threat was made shortly after Clarke was expelled from the bar for insulting a female patron and while he was holding a gasoline can.
Jury convicts John Paul Russell of Nipomo for possessing large volumes of child pornography images

A San Luis Obispo County jury found John Paul Russell (53) guilty of possession of child pornography and found true that he had at least 600 images with at least 10 of those depicting young children under the age of 12.

District Attorney Dan Dow Urges Passage of Senate Bill 1042 to Make Human Trafficking a Serious and Violent Felony in California

Human Trafficking is not legally defined as a serious or violent offense. Senate Bill 1042 would change the law to include Human Trafficking, Penal Code section 236.1 as a serious and violent offense under California's Three Strikes Law.
SLO County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force Makes Nine Arrests During Operation Reclaim and Rebuild

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Operation Reclaim and Rebuild was a success in San Luis Obispo County between February 6 and February 12, 2022. San Luis Obispo County’s Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force enforcement effort resulted in disrupting criminal trafficking networks with the arrest of nine individuals in San Luis Obispo County over three days of enforcement operations.
