COVID Exposure

Protecting you and your co-workers from COVID-19 is a top priority for the County. We continue to take action to ensure a safe workplace and we appreciate your diligence in doing your part every day to protect one another and the people we serve.

To keep you informed, HR’s safety team will send a regular email to all employees while COVID remains a significant health risk. Today’s message provides information about what constitutes COVID-19 exposure.

Employees who have been within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is considered actively contagious (i.e., still ordered to isolate) are at risk of being infected. Public Health may direct them to quarantine (ordered to stay home) in such circumstances because they may be carrying the virus. The length of quarantine will depend on a few variables. Quarantined employees will be advised when they may return to work.

If you have been exposed as described above, please do not come to work. Contact your department and call Public Health at 781-5500.

Together, we can slow the spread of COVID-19 in SLO County.
