The County Office of Emergency Services is committed to serving the public before, during and after times of emergency by promoting effective coordination between agencies, and encouraging preparedness of the public and organizations involved in emergency response.
On March 22, 2019 the USDA granted a Secretarial Disaster Designation for farmers and ranchers in San Luis Obispo County. Additionally the SBA declared the county a disaster area for businesses and organizations that do business directly with growers. This designation is a result of drought intensity levels of D2-D4 as reported on the US Drought Monitor.
