Disaster Planning: Be a Part of the Process

Author: Department of Planning & Building
Date: 3/13/2019 10:20:32 AM

We have witnessed natural disasters throughout California and even in neighboring counties. In San Luis Obispo County, the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) is our guide for handling local disasters. This plan is updated regularly, and the County is working on this now. We need the public’s input.

For the first time, the LHMP will include all local jurisdictions throughout San Luis Obispo County, so all residents who live within San Luis Obispo County are affected.

How Can You Help?
The public is invited to attend a workshop on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the Ludwick Community Center (864 Santa Rosa Street, San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401). This is an opportunity to learn about the plan, ask questions, and provide input. The LHMP workshop flyer is available for downloading and printing.

You can also help guide the update through participation in a survey. Please follow this link to participate: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SLOHMPupdate
