First Non-Storefront Cannabis Dispensary Approved in SLO County

Author: Department of Planning & Building
Date: 6/22/2018 3:30:00 PM

At a recent Planning Department Hearing the County of San Luis Obispo approved the first cannabis-related business for operation.

At the Planning Department Hearing on June 1, 2018, West Coast Organix received a Minor Use Permit to operate a non-storefront cannabis dispensary. The Minor Use Permit was approved without opposition on the consent agenda.

The dispensary, located near the airport in San Luis Obispo, is in the process of obtaining its State license and County business license before commencing operations from this location. West Coast Organix is the only legally established dispensary in the unincorporated County currently, and is the first dispensary to receive land use approval to operate since the County began allowing dispensaries in 2006. As several more cannabis projects are undergoing the review process, please check our newspages regularly for updates.
