The public is invited to provide input on the housing needs in the unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County at a workshop on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the San Luis Obispo Library located at 995 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo.
The County of San Luis Obispo is working on an update to the Housing Element that will address the housing needs in the unincorporated areas of the county.
What is the Housing Element?
The Housing Element of the San Luis Obispo County General Plan analyzes the existing and projected housing needs for all economic segments of the community and provides goals, objectives, policies, and programs to address those needs.
The County of San Luis Obispo seeks to create policies that provide opportunities for the development of housing to meet local demand. An effective housing element provides the appropriate conditions for developing and preserving a healthy supply of housing for the entire community, while reducing constraints where possible.
