The public has until Friday, January 3 2020, to provide comments on the County of San Luis Obispo Draft Industrial Hemp Ordinance.
On Tuesday, June 18, 2019, the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors passed an Urgency Ordinance, placing a temporary moratorium on the cultivation of industrial hemp. Under Board direction, the County Department of Planning and Building has been working to develop a permanent ordinance to govern hemp cultivation with input and assistance from the Department of Agriculture/Weights and Measures, the Agricultural Liaison Advisory Board (ALAB), hemp industry representatives and concerned citizens.
The Public Review Draft of the Industrial Hemp Ordinance is now available through this link as a downloadable PDF. The revisions are highlighted with strikeouts (deleted text) and underlines (added text).
You may submit written comments to the attention of Kip Morais, Project Manager and Brian Pedrotti, Senior Planner, via email: [email protected]. Comments must be submitted by Friday, January 3, 2020.
Additional information on industrial hemp cultivation in the unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County can be found by visiting the Department of Agriculture/Weights and Measures.
