Wireless Facility Modification

What is the process?

Step 1: Identify the original Land Use Permit number

  • On the top left hand corner, press the blue “I want to...” button and then press “See Layer List” 

    • This will open a searchable toolbar.

  • On the top left corner, click where it says “Filter Layers...” and type in “Wireless Communications Facilities”. 

  • Turn on the mapping layer by clicking the box next to the “Wireless Communications Facilities” text. 

  • In the top right hand corner, use the “Search...” feature to search for the parcel 

    • The property can be found using an address or Assessor's Parcel Number (APN)

    • If searching by address, multiple points across the region may be displayed.  All possible addresses matching the search results will be shown on the bottom of the screen.  Double click on the desired result to enlarge the map to the parcel.

  • Once the property is found, the original Land Use Permit number should be overlayed over the Wireless Communications Facility location. 

Step 2: Modification to Wireless Facility Application Form

Step 3: Assemble the other required documents

  • Modified Plans  

  • Visual Simulations  

  • Radiofrequency Report  

  • Specification Sheets for Existing and Proposed Equipment  

Step 4: Apply for a Land Use Permit application online

  • Select “Land Use Permit Application.”   

  • Click “Apply.”   

  • Upload the application form, and required documents.  


Step 5: Pay Invoice

  • Planning staff will email the applicant an invoice, which the applicant pay online here

Step 6: Planning Staff will Process the Application

  • Planning staff will process the application.

This service is available to anyone applying for a modification to an existing permitted telecommunications facility.

Please refer to the Department of Planning and Building Fee Schedule for application fees.

When and where is this service offered?

This service is available throughout the year during regular business hours except during scheduled holidays.
