20 Arrested in Recent Probation Compliance Operation

Probation and Parole Compliance Check


Date and Time of Incident: Friday, February 28, 2020

Place of Occurrence: Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Nipomo, Oceano, and San Luis Obispo

On February 28, 2020, the San Luis Obispo County Probation Department, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office and California State Parole conducted a probation and parole compliance operation with the assistance of the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office, San Luis Obispo County Child Welfare Services, Arroyo Grande Police Department, Grover Beach Police Department, Pismo Beach Police Department, San Luis Obispo Police Department, Santa Maria Police Department, California Highway Patrol, California Men’s Colony, Atascadero State Hospital Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Law enforcement personnel contacted individuals, on probation and parole, with known associations to criminal street gangs throughout southern San Luis Obispo County including the cities of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo and the unincorporated areas of Nipomo and Oceano.

As a result of the multi-agency compliance operation, 44 subjects were contacted, 21 were found in compliance with the terms and conditions of probation or parole and 20 subjects were arrested for new criminal offenses and probation or parole violations. 2 other adults were cited and released, and one juvenile was arrested for a probation violation.

A loaded semi-auto firearm with high capacity magazines, suspected forged/stolen checks, a ballistic vest and illegal narcotics were discovered and seized during the operation.

The following persons on probation or parole were arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail:

  • Armando Alcantar, Oceano, 20, probation violation
  • Rudy Alvarez, 29, Nipomo, parole violation Arturo Ambrizcervantes, 30, Nipomo, driving under the influence
  • Joseph Berry, 50, Shell Beach, probation violation
  • Matthew Bishop, 28, Arroyo Grande, possession of metal knuckles and probation violation

The following persons on probation or parole were arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail (cont.):

  • Armando Campos, 45, Oceano, possession of firearm and parole violation Bradley Davis, 39, Grover Beach, parole violation
