Storm Damage Repair on Prefumo Canyon Road in San Luis Obispo

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin repairing a storm damage site on Prefumo Canyon Road near mile post 4.9 in San Luis Obispo.

Work is scheduled to start September 8, 2020. Most of the work will be completed by the end of September, with some intermittent work continuing through October 20, 2020. Work will take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The downhill slope of the road will be repaired with the installation of rock slope protection and reconstruction of the embankment. 

Construction signs will be placed in advance of the work to notify the traveling public. For the safety of the public and the workers, traffic will be reduced to one-way controls with delays up to 15 minutes. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans in consideration of the delays and consider alternative routes. See attached map for specific location.

David Crye General Engineering Contractor, Inc. of Morro Bay, has been awarded the contract in the amount of $154,412 to perform the work. The project is funded by San Luis Obispo County Road Maintenance funds.
