Jessica Lorance has been recognized with the 2019 Women of Distinction Award for her outstanding professional and civic contributions. Lorance works as part of the Homeless Services Division of the Department of Social Services. Honorees are nominated by their peers and chosen by a selection committee.
Lorance is dedicated to making the community a better place and collaborating with community partners to have local impact. Most notably Lorance partnered with Steve Martin, mayor of Paso Robles, to create the CommUNITY Connection Events which serve underrepresented groups by providing them free access to medical, housing, food, haircuts, and housing assistance. These services greatly provide for veterans, civilians, and families in San Luis Obispo County. Lorance serves as the Homeless Services Program Review Specialist for the SLO County Social Services Department, manages the administration for Homeless Services Oversight Council, and is a district committee membership chair for Boy Scouts of America.
Congratulations to Jessica, with thanks for her meaningful work to make life better for so many people here in SLO County.
