Channel Maintenance Activities Nathan Claud, Public Works
200’ of Levy top resurfaced at West end of North Levy. This area has been slippery and muddy during the rains and is a key access point for the Sand Canyon Flap gates.
KD Janni sprayed herbicide on Hemlock, fennel, and Castor Bean between Highway 1 and 22nd street. We are seeing results. We will monitor closely to determine if another application will be necessary. We will perform more herbicide application throughout the summer.
Mowing will occur on the levy tops and Los Berros in Late May through early June.

Western exterminators are performing additional ground squirrel treatments were performed near Creek rd.
The gate at Creek rd was repaired due to a broken latch.
Cannon completed the require cross sectional surveys. Data from that survey will be used to access the changes in the channel and direct sediment removal. We are not anticipating the need for sediment removal this year due to low flows.
