Programs
Pesticide Use Enforcement: Enforcement of mandated pesticide requirements to protect workers, public health and safety, the environment, and to ensure safe food.
Pest Prevention: Conduct state-mandated programs preventing the introduction and establishment of pests (injurious insect and animal pests, plant diseases, and noxious weeds) in agriculture, urban, and wildlife habitats in the county. Programs include Pest Exclusion,
Pest Detection, Pest Eradication, Glassy-winged Sharpshooter (GWSS) and Apiary.
Pest Management: Promote and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to control or eradicate detrimental agricultural pests within San Luis Obispo County.
Product Quality: Perform inspections at Farmers' Markets, nurseries, organic production, and seed distributors to ensure quality products and compliance with state-mandated requirements.
Agricultural Resources: Provide information and make recommendations to protect the future of agriculture.
Weights and Measures: Protect consumers and businesses by inspecting, weighing, and measuring devices and verifying business practices to ensure accuracy in the marketplace
