Due to significant public health concerns from the COVID-19 coronavirus and the need to meet social distancing requirements, the Department of Agriculture/Weights and Measures' offices are currently operating under modified schedules. 

All three of our offices are staffed and have partially re-opened to serve our customers. However, customers are strongly encouraged to call ahead and make appointments for any necessary services.

Anyone can use this service.

Is there a charge for this service?

Fees vary, depending on inspection time, laboratory analysis and mileage to the inspection site.

When and where is this service offered?

Multiple field inspections are required throughout the growing season. The inspections are scheduled by appointment with an Inspector from the County of San Luis Obispo Department of Agriculture/Weights and Measures. The timing of the field inspection is dependent on the life stages of the crop.
