Manuel Jesus Perez Found Guilty

After a three-week trial, forty-three year old Manuel Jesus Perez (DOB 01/03/1975), was found guilty of first degree murder and Arson by a San Luis Obispo County jury today.


Mr. Perez was charged with murder (PC187 (a)) and arson (PC451 (b)) following the July 11, 2016, death of Joseph Charles Kienly IV (DOB 01/05/1978) of Grover Beach, California.

 

On Wednesday, February 7th, the Court will conduct a hearing to determine the validity of two alleged prior convictions for first degree residential burglary committed in 1995 in Ventura County. A sentencing date will be set after the hearing on the alleged prior convictions.

 

This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Michael Frye and investigated by the Grover Beach Police Department.
