Jury Unable to Reach Unanimous Verdict in Third Consecutive Rape Trial

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a mistrial was declared after a jury was unable to reach a verdict in the prosecution of Rian B. Mabus (DOB 2-12-1985) who was charged with rape of an intoxicated person on September 1, 2014.

Nipomo resident William Martinez Perez (59) has been sentenced by a Judge to serve 130 years-to-life in state prison for the sexual molestation of three children under the age of 14 .
DA to Host Mandatory Human Trafficking Training for Hospitality Workers

Free Human Trafficking Awareness Training for hotel and motel employers in San Luis Obispo County. The Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force will host this seminar to educate personnel on the requirements of Senate Bill 970. The law requires that all hotel and motel employees receive at least twenty minutes of new human trafficking awareness training by January 1, 2020.
Jury Finds Man Guilty of Felony Resisting Arrest after Viewing Video Evidence

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a San Luis Obispo County jury has found Monsuru W. Sho (54) guilty of felony resisting arrest by force or violence, based on a May 2016 incident where Sho fought with a California Highway Patrol Officer after a routine traffic stop.
Conflict of Interest Charges Filed Against Former Paso Robles School District Employee

Today, the District Attorney’s Office Public Integrity Unit filed a criminal complaint against Gregg Joseph Wangard, of Paso Robles, for violations of conflict of interest laws while he was employed as the Food Services Director at Paso Robles Joint Unified School District between November 2015 and June 3, 2019.
