Morro Bay Man Sentenced to State Prison for Manslaughter

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Sean Christopher Maneely (53) has been sentenced to six years in state prison for the stabbing death of Andrew Ignatius McTaggart, which took place on January 25, 2020 in the city of Morro Bay.

7 Men Charged with Solicitation During Anti-Human Trafficking Operation

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that charges have been filed against seven individuals for solicitation of prostitution. The charges stem from Operation Reclaim and Rebuild conducted in January when the San Luis Obispo County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force participated in the statewide operation.
Oceano Man Convicted in First San Luis Obispo County Jury Trial Since Beginning of Pandemic

In the first jury trial since the coronavirus pandemic began, a San Luis Obispo County jury found David Carl Angello, Jr. (42) guilty of two counts of deterring a peace officer by threat of force and two counts of criminal threats. The jury also found true that Mr. Angello personally used a deadly or dangerous weapon while deterring peace officers. All counts are felonies.
Release of 8,000 Serious Offenders from Prisons Puts Victims at Risk

Career criminals, those serving sentences for serious crimes, and individuals with prior convictions for violent offenses will likely be released early. In addition, prisoners with prior convictions of domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking for labor which are not classified as 'violent' may be among those released early.
Murder Charges Filed Against Nicholas C Ron for Murdering Trevon Perry of Paso Robles

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Nicholas Christopher Ron, Jr. (23) of Paso Robles has been charged with murder for the shooting death of Trevon Perry (27), after a three-month missing person investigation by Paso Robles Police Department and the District Attorney's Bureau of Investigation.
