DNA Analysis and Uncooperative Witness Compels Dismissal of Oceano Dunes Shooting Case

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that charges against Francisco Orozco (20) stemming from the May 4, 2019 shooting at Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreational Area (SVRA) have been dismissed following additional investigation, forensic testing, and the key witness becoming uncooperative.
San Miguel CSD Employee Sentenced for Theft and Embezzlement of $38,000

A judge sentenced Paso Robles resident, Kallie Johnson, for her embezzlement of $38,000 while working as a bookkeeper for the San Miguel Community Services District.

SLO Jury Convicts Jess Drue Brasuell III of Sex Crimes Against Multiple Child Victims

After a three and one-half week-long jury trial, a San Luis Obispo County jury found Jess Drue Brasuell III (59) guilty of 20 felony counts, including multiple sex crimes on four child victims, possession of child pornography, and providing narcotic drugs to minors.

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that he has filed criminal charges against Tianna Isis Aratawentworth and Elias Bautista after reviewing investigative reports and evidence submitted by the San Luis Obispo Police Department concerning their conduct during protests in San Luis Obispo on July 21, 2020.
