Jury Finds True: DA’s Petition that Richard Wade Mullin is a Sexually Violent Predator under California Law

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a San Luis Obispo County jury has sustained his petition for the continued commitment of Richard Wade Mullin (63) as a Sexually Violent Predator. Mullin will remain in the custody and care of the California Department of State Hospitals.

Temporary Restraining Order is reinstated preventing CDCR from increasing custody credits for inmates convicted of two strikes

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today the reinstatement of a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the CDCR which prevents the department from awarding custody credits to so-called “nonviolent” second-strikers.

Carlo Alberto Fuentes Flores found guilty of murdering Nancy Woodrum of Paso Robles during the commission of a rape. Will be sentenced on February 24, 2022.

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Carlo Alberto Fuentes Flores was convicted of murdering Nancy Woodrum by Superior Court Judge Timothy Covello who presided over a court trial after Fuentes Flores waived his right to a jury trial. Judge Covello also found true the special circumstance that the murder occurred during the commission or attempted commission of the crime of rape.

Arthur Tiofilo Rocha sentenced to serve 50 years-to-life in prison for violent sex crimes against three San Luis Obispo women survivors

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Arthur Tiofilo Rocha (43) was sentenced to serve 50 years-to-life in prison. The sentence is based on his August 13, 2021, conviction of four violent felony sex crimes committed against three women in San Luis Obispo in 2018.

Daniel Raul Rodriguez Johnson (34) has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2019 murder of Carrington Jane Broussard and her full-term unborn baby

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Daniel Raul Rodriguez Johnson (4/23/1987) has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Carrington Jane Broussard (27) and their full-term unborn baby occurring at their home in rural Paso Robles in March of 2019.

Fred Raymond Knight, Jr. sentenced to 28 years to life in state prison for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 10

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Fred Raymond Knight, Jr. (46) has been sentenced to 28 years to life in state prison and ordered to register as a sex offender for life for his conviction of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 10.
