What is this service?
Are you looking to adopt a cat? Or to adopt a dog? Or perhaps even a rabbit or chicken? Stray animals that have not been reclaimed by their owners and those that have been surrendered to the shelter are available for adoption to the general public. Individuals looking to add a new family member are encouraged to visit the shelter during normal kennel hours.

When and where is this service offered?
In support of public health measures to mitigate the transmission and spread of COVID-19, an appoinment is currently required to meet and adopt shelter animals. To schedule an appoinment:
- View the animals currently available for adoption and record the ID number of the animal you are interested in adopting.
- Call Animal Services (805-781-4400) to schedule an appointment. You will be asked to provide the ID number of the animal you are interested in adopting at the time you make your appoinment.
