Temporary Food Facility Health Permitting

What is the process?

Review Operational Requirements

Read and comply with the Requirements for Temporary Food Facility reference document.

Submit Temporary Food Facility Application

The Temporary Food Facility Operator shall submit a Temporary Food Facility Application form applicable to the type of permit being requested to Environmental Health Services a minimum of 14 days prior to the scheduled event. Please note, temporary Food Facility applications will not be approved if the intended operation of the Temporary Food Facility is not in conjunction with a community event.

Please note, if non-prepackaged food items to be sold or distributed from the temporary food facility will be prepared in advance of an event at an off-site commercial food facility location, the following forms are also required to be submitted along with the permit application:

Pay the Health Permit Fee

The permit fee is due with the application. Please refer to the Environmental Health Permit Fee Schedule for more information.

Await Approval From Inspector

It is unlawful for a Temporary Food Facility to operate at an event without prior approval from Environmental Health Services.

The health inspector will review your completed application and sign off when approved. The inspector reviewing the application will contact you with any additional information that may be required, revisions needed, or when your application is approved. For Multiple-Event applicants, a paper Health Permit to Operate will be mailed within 2-4 weeks after receiving inspector approval.
