How to Report a Suspected Code Violation Using the CodeSLO Website

Follow the User Guide below to help you complete the on-line forms to submit a request for our Code Team to investigate a suspected code violation.

 

Under "Welcome to CodeSLO's Service Request Access" there will be six types of suspected code violations that are trending.  To select click on the > sign.   If you do not see the code type you are reporting, then click on the "Don't see what you are looking for? Create a New Request." 

Under Make a Request, if the type is not already chosen, click in the space below "Enter a request type" and choose from the drop down menu.

Step 1.  Enter a request type: Choose from the drop-down menu.

 

Step 2.  Select a Location:  Enter the address of the subject request in the search box. If you do not know the address, skip to the next Step (Step 3)

Step 3.  Enter Request Details:  Describe the location and/or provide as much details as possible about the suspected code violation.

Step 4.  County Area:  choose either Inland or Coastal (or your best guess)

Step 5.  Click on the red square and change it to a checkmark to confirm that a Description has been provided.  You cannot submit the request without doing this.  

Step 6.  You can add photos or weblinks in this section.  This is not required and can later be sent to our Code team referencing the Code number created in Step 8 below. 

Please note if you want to submit your request anonomously then leave the contact area blank. 

Step 7:  Submit: After completing Steps 1-6, click on SUBMIT in the right corner to enter the request for an investigation:

Step 8: Keep a record of the Code Request Number that will be created after Submit.  When contacting the County to provide any additional information, such as photos, please use this Code Request Number generated from your submittal.  An example of the reference number (CODEZ2023-206) that was associated with the above request, is shown in a yellow outline below:
