Lopez Drive Bridge Seismic Retrofit, Arroyo Grande

The purpose of the project is to improve public safety along this portion of the roadway because the existing bridge is seismically vulnerable. Implementation of the project will improve the reliability of the bridge and the transportation corridor in the surrounding community. The project will construct a catcher bent system, new columns, and seismic cable restraints beneath the bridge.

During construction, at least one lane of traffic will be open at all times along Lopez Drive and no construction will occur on weekends. Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2024.
