Purchasing Services
Purchasing Services provides County departments with procurement services. The County Purchasing Agent is responsible for implementing Board of Supervisors policies pertaining to County procurement. Purchasing staff are charged with ensuring that the County's process is fair, competitive, efficient, and conducted under clear ethical guidelines.
The Board of Supervisors delegates the authority to procure all goods and services to the County Purchasing Agent. This authority is then delegated to specific buyers. Purchasing staff ensure that proper safeguards are in place for maintaining a procurement system of quality and integrity by providing procurement support, training, and oversight. As a regional leader in public procurement, Purchasing Services seeks to set the example and build opportunities for cooperative purchasing to ensure public funds are expended in a manner that provides maximum benefit to the taxpayers of San Luis Obispo County.
Russia-Ukraine Conflict Economic Sanctions.
All bidders shall ensure compliance with economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. government in response to Russia's actions in Ukraine, as well as any sanctions imposed under state law (collectively, economic sanctions) including by refraining from new investments in, and financial transactions with, Russian institutions or companies that are headquartered or have their principal place of business in Russia (Russian entities), and not transferring technology to Russia or Russian entities.
