AG Huasna Road over Huasna River Bridge Replacement Project, Arroyo Grande
This project is currently in design. The project proposes replacing the existing timber bridge on Arroyo-Grande Huasna Road over Huasna River with a new concrete bridge.
The purpose of the project is to improve public safety along this portion of the roadway as the existing bridge has reached the end of its service life. The bridge was damaged during storms in winter 2023, and temporary repairs were completed to re-open the road to the public.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has determined that the existing bridge should be replaced due to structural deficiencies, making the project eligible for federal funding. The road will remain open to maintain access to the area during construction.
