Huasna Road over Arroyo Grande Creek Bridge Replacement Project, Arroyo Grande
The project proposes replacing the existing bridge on Huasna Road over Arroyo Grande Creek with a new precast, concrete bridge.
The purpose of the project is to improve public safety along this portion of the roadway because the existing bridge has reached the end of its service life. Implementation of the project will also improve roadway safety. The project site is in Supervisorial District 4.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has determined that the existing bridge should be replaced due to structural and hydraulic deficiencies, making the project eligible for federal funding. The proposed bridge project will construct a new wider bridge at the same location. A temporary detour will maintain access to the area during construction. The timing of this project is being coordinated with the Cecchetti Road bridge project; one bridge is anticipated to be constructed in 2027 and the other in 2028 so that at least one of these bridges is open at any given time.
