The existing bridge was removed and a temporary bridge was installed in 2023 to maintain access to the area. The temporary bridge will remain in place while the permanent replacement bridge is designed as well as through its construction. The proposed permanent replacement bridge will be a multi-span reinforced concrete bridge. The emergency work and permanent bridge replacement project are both eligible for federal funding and administered by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
